Frequently Asked Questions:
Q- Should I clean heater surface/arc pins?
A- Yes, The surface of the heater must be free of residuals and scratches for good heat contact.
Use a tissue in order to clean the surface of the heater. In order to get accurate ignitions for tests, the arc pins must be cleaned regularly. Use the brass brush to free the arc pins from soot or other residuals. When doing so take care not to bend the temperature sensor or the arc pins.

Q- Should I clean the temperature probe?
A- In order to get accurate temperature readings for tests, the temperature probe must be cleaned regularly. Therefore use the brass brush to free the arc pins from soot or other residuals. When doing so take care not to bend the temperature sensor or the arc pins.

Q- Is it important to clean my sample cup after each use?
A- In order to get accurate flashpoints for tests, the sample cup must be cleaned properly after each test. Use disposable tissues in combination with a cleaning agent to clean the cups from its sample residuals. Take care that cleaning agents are evaporated already prior to filling with fresh sample. If cleaning of a sample cup is not done properly, wrong flashpoints can be detected due to contaminations of previous tested samples.

Q- What if my instrument doesn't show the proper values?
A- Clean the oven surface and clean arc pins.
Check if the sample cup has deep scratches.
Check your parameter to verify that they are correct.
Check if magnetic stirring is necessary for the sample.
Be sure that no contamination with residuals of last sample is present in the sample cup.
